The main work of Metis Community Services is supporting children at risk and their families. Because of this, our staff is made up of qualified professionals. Although volunteer opportunities are somewhat limited, we often need help with tasks such as newsletter mailings, and setting up for community gatherings. BUT because folding newsletters or setting up tables doesn't require a lot of concentration, there's lots of time to visit with other Metis volunteers! And that's fun!

The Metis Community Council of the Capital Region has been established to help us stay in touch with our people and to promote Metis Pride. It's an opportunity for you to give us your ideas and to help plan for the future. Participation in the Council is open to all Metis in our service area.
